Steve
(your webmaster), pictured here with his grandson, Mason,
shares a ride that takes you on some of the beautiful
front range (Colorado) back roads, passes Horse's Tooth reservoir, stops
at a great place for brunch, Vern's in LaPorte, before
looping back through the mountains on Rist
Canyon. To

Scenic Mount Evans, 14,150'
and only 85 miles away. The 28-mile (28 miles from Idaho
Springs, 85 miles from High Country Harley-Davidson) Mount Evans Highway,
the nation's highest paved road and a national forest scenic byway,
climbs from Idaho Springs to the boulder-strewn 14,264-foot summit of
Mount Evans. This is a great summer ride for a hot day. When the temps
are in the 80's and 90's in Longmont/Denver, on top of Mount Evans it
can be in the 40's and 50's so make sure take a jacket along.
Read more here (includes Maps and pictures).
Donna
(a former High Country HOG LOH Officer) shares
her first really long ride. It was the summer of 1992, when Donna took
her first BIG motorcycle
trip. From Michigan to Sturgis, Red Lodge, MT and Yellowstone.

Donna's story here.
