2007 LOH 2nd Annual
LAM fundraiser - HOGs, DOGs and RODs (Aug
26, 2007)
High Country HOG Chapter Ladies of Harley raised $2,494
this year ($1,000 last year). The money is raised for the disease
Lymphangioleiomyomatosis, a rare lung disease that affects women.
The LAM Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to the research and
treatment of the disease. There is not yet a cure and the only
option at this time is a lung transplant.
|
|
The 2nd Annual LAM fundraiser - HOGs, DOGs and RODs bike
and car show had 19 car entries, everything from camaro's
and corvette's to touring cars and hot rods. The 1st place Rod winner
was Dennis Rubba with his 1968 Camaro and 2nd place was Larry Johnson
for his 1955 Chevy. We had nine motorcycle entries. The first place
Bike winner was Jody Peterson with her totally redone Heritage and 2nd
place was Michelle Miller with her Fat Boy.

2nd Annual April-Fools Day ride
April Fool's Day or All Fool's Day, is a holiday of uncertain
origin, known for practical joking and celebrated on the first
of April. The English gave April Fool's Day its first widespread
celebration during the 18th century. Who cares? The way I look
at it, it was a great excuse for an early season ride. See
last year's pictures here.

1st Annual
April Fools Day Ride - 2006
April Fool's Day or All Fool's Day, is a holiday of uncertain origin,
known for practical joking and celebrated on the first of April.
The English gave April Fool's Day its first widespread celebration

a great excuse for an early season ride. The morning was gray and
cloudy, I wondered if this was going to be a hit or a miss. Click

Santa's Sleigh run 2005

Harley Owner’s Group hosted the 11h Annual Santa’s Sleigh
Run Toy Ride benefiting Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence.
On December 3rd, 2005, over 100 riders participated for a frosty, yet
festive ride from High Country Harley Davidson in Fredrick, Colorado,
to the Moose Lodge in Longmont. Over $3,000.00 was raised and over $1500
in toys were donated to the Safehouse.
This generous support helps Safehouse to offer much-needed services

to provide toys for children who may not have otherwise received gifts
this holiday season.

Maybe you think your dues don't need to be paid until later this year.
Unfortunately, there has been some confusion around expiration dates.
The Chapter membership year runs from January to December each year.
So whether you join the club in January or November, your dues will
be $15.00 (or $10.00 for the second member at the same address), and
expire in December of that year.
There are lots of good things happening this year. Don't miss out!
Send in your dues today. Don't be left behind. If you have any questions

BEREAVEMENT NOTICE - Rick StewartRick Stewart passed away peacefully
at 4:12 a.m. with his wife Kathleen at his side February 9, 2004 due
to complications from cancer. A table with Rick's jacket and some of
his photos has been set out at High Country. From the funeral: Rick loved
his motorcycle more than anything. His special baby was his 95th anniversary
model. He last rode it July 4th 2003. He was a chapter road captain
and lastly in 2001 & 2002 he was the chapter photographer. His riding
days started as a boy when his dad and he rode a Honda 125 from Denver
to San Diego. They slept on picnic benches and roadside parks. Passing
a big 18- wheeler he was indoctrinated to riding as a bee got in his
helmet. This was not his last encounter with nature while riding. Recently
he rode to AZ to see his mother and this time without a helmet, Rick
got so sun burned his eyes were swollen shut. Rick was a quiet man
but his stature stood out.
Many times he would be noticeably absent from chapter events. Well,
until we would be on our way as a group and somewhere along the way
there would be Rick, at the perfect vantage point, taking pictures for
the chapter of the procession of bikes.
