2006 LOH Chili Cookoff
The
2006 Chili Cook-Off and Dessert Contest
was a great success. We doubled the amount we were able to donate
to the Longmont Humane Society from $750.00 last year to $1,500.00
this year. Your support, help and participation are truly appreciated.
A poker run was added this year with the first stop
at the Starbucks at 17th and Pace, manage Carl Gruesner donated
numerous door prizes as well as sending employees to High Country
to serve free coffee that he donated through Starbucks. Additional
stops were at the Derby Grill in Berthoud and the Rocky Mountain
Saloon on Highway 66.
The 2006
Chili Cookoff flyer can be seen here. |
There
were 17 Chili entries;
4 Green Chili
13 Western Chili
and 12 Dessert entries this year.
This is up slightly from last year. About 30 riders
went on the Poker run. The dog bandanas sold very well especially
in the larger sizes. Each person entering dessert or chili in
the contest and each person paying for lunch received a door prize
ticket, over 50 door prizes wee given away.
The Longmont Times-Call Valley edition ran two wonderful articles
about High Country Ladies of Harley and the Chili Cook-Off.
