Ladies of Harley - Charities
High Country HOG Ladies of Harley have a long history of charitable
donations to groups like the LAM foundation, the Longmont Humane Society,
Longmont SafeHouse, and the Longmont Women's coalition.
Lymphangioleiomyomatosis,
better known as LAM, is a progressive lung disease
that affects women almost exclusively, usually during their childbearing
years. LAM often goes misdiagnosed as asthma, emphysema, or chronic
bronchitis. Scientists estimate that there could be as many as 250,000
LAM patients worldwide. The LAM Foundation is the only organization
that embraces women with LAM and their families, provides support
and education, engages scientists and doctors, and raises funds
for the study of LAM. High Country HOG Chapter is proud to begin
support the LAM foundation with the 2006
Hog s- Dogs - and Rods event. |
Chili Cook-off
High country Ladies of Harley has adopted The Longmont Humane
Society to support with one of their annual fund raisers. The
decision to start a fund raising event started after the 2004
Spring Bake Sale flopped. (We raised about $40.00 in 6 hours).
The Ladies of Harley had a new officer in 2004, Stacie Ekberg
who with Teri Hull decided if the Ladies of Harley were going
to support a charity it should be one that was near and dear to
their hearts. Teri proposed a local Humane Society, Stacie had
volunteered at the Longmont Humane Society in the past and her
husband Jerry was the Santa Claus each year at LHS for pictures
with the pets. So it was decided that the Longmont Humane Society
was going to be the recipient. Read more

2004 Bake Sales
Supported the Longmont Humane Society. Cookies and sweets were sold
at High Country Harley-Davidson Spring Fling and Open house to aid the
critters at the Humane Society.
2004 Santa's Sleigh run
The ladies were very helpful in this rides organization. It provided
a large amount of support for Longmont's SafeHouse.
2003 and earlier - Women's coalition
High Country HOG Ladies of Harley had a long history of making charitable
donations to the Longmont Women's Coalition. Whether it was a $200,00
in necessary 'daily need' items raised with money from bake sales at
the 'Shop', or is much more, the women of High Country HOG LOH have
demonstrated their care and giving nature. In 2003, High Country HOG's
own Ladies of Harley (LOH) raised over $350.00 through bake sales and
collecting donations. Way to go!
