"What did you learn today, Young Man?" our MSF instructor,
Walt Hankinson asked...
I learned that High Country has some GREAT members who are dedicated to their
own and their chapter's safe riding success! I learned that while we filled
our large class of 12 riders, many more of our chapter members are on a waiting
list for the next available slot. (Eric S)

MSF Advanced Rider Class- 2006
At the Harley Owners Group®, safe riding is a top priority. So, to encourage all our members to ride as skillfully and safely as possible, we offer tuition reimbursement up to US $50* (in the form of a coupon – see guidelines below) for the successful completion of an accredited Motorcycle Safety Foundation** rider training course (Motorcycle & Moped Industry Council course in Canada), or Harley-Davidson Rider's Edge® course. Successful students will also receive a pin and patch featuring the "Safe Rider Skills" logo. Download the reimbursement form here. As a further incentive, H.O.G. chapters with at least 12 members completing a course in a single calendar year will receive special recognition: a Safe Rider Skills plaque. High Country Chapter Colorado #422 is tentatively scheduling another Advanced Rider class in Sept 2006 watch the Rides & Events schedule for more information.
"What did you learn today, Young Man?" our MSF instructor, Walt Hankinson
asked...
I was sneaking around with video while Walt was talking so I didn't answer
to the group as my other classmates from the "Experienced Rider" class did.
I'll answer that now:
I learned that High Country has some GREAT members who are dedicated to
their own and their chapter's safe riding success! I learned that while we
filled our large class of 12 riders, many more of our chapter members are on
a waiting list for the next available slot.
I see from Greg's great photos that while I was getting too tired to
notice--we really DID learn a lot, ride a lot, practice a lot and get
coached a lot!
I learned that as a chapter officer, I have only to provide a bit of
framework and then stand back as the **real creativity** of our amassed
members takes on a life of it's own and far surpasses any expectation or
image I might have conceived in "what I thought would happen".
Many thanks to the folks who FILLED!! the MSF class. Many thanks to those
on the waiting list. And, many thanks to the members and officers of a
great motorcycling mob--the High Country HOG.
PRE-ANNOUNCEMENT: Registration for the Sat Sept 30 "Experienced Rider"
class opens Tuesday. This is a NON ADVERTISED CLASS AT A SPECIAL PRICE FOR
OUR HOG MEMBERS AND WIND & FIRE MC ONLY. DO NOT SIGN UP ON THE WEB--CALL
ABATE OF COLORADO AND SPEAK WITH DEB CRAIG AT 303 789-3264.
