BIO: After college in God?s country, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, in 1984 I started work as an electrical engineer in Ohio where I met up with both my first Harley, "Red Artie" an FXRT and my wife Diane. Through the grace of God they are still both with me, I guess proving that neither the new fangled "Evolution motor" nor marriage are just a fad, Twin-Cam & V-Rod not withstanding. We have since lived in Michigan, then Indiana before moving to Longmont in 1999. We own a Road King, a Sportster and of course Red Artie. We are blessed with two great teenagers, although they do challenge our free time in the saddle right now. From the midwest I have ridden to Sturgis, Milwaukee, toured the UP, and attended nearly all AMA Grand National Dirt Track races in the midwest - favorites: Lima OH & the Peoria TT in Illinois. I have held HOG positions of Event Chair, Road Captain, then Director & Assistant of this chapter. In the summer of 2002, Hagar, (High Country HOG Asst Dir) and I left for Sturgis a week early and rode to Michigan crossing the pond on a ferry. We camped with the Bay City Bunch on the 25th annual guys-only ride, (Anal Run) and returned to Sturgis, logging some 3,800 great memorable miles in the saddle.
I have been a Lifetime HOG member since being a part of the founding group of the HOG chapter at Saginaw Valley MotorWorks in 1985 and am active in AMA, HOG, ABATE, and MRF. Hagar & I are original founding participants in the United Ride of Colorado as well. In 2002 chapter growth in membership and quality was unparalleled. We added a chapter WEB page, an Events Card, the HOG Box at the shop and some new rides. With the 2003 officers in place, I can say that the caliber & character of this new Leadership Team should provide exceptional efforts toward an even better chapter.
Diane & I look forward to an exciting fun filled year and working with Scott, Rachel and Ray at the dealership as they open an additional shop in Boulder.
At Cheyenne last year, Diane won the 'weenie-bite' contest. Way to go Diane!
