officer - Teri Hull (previously LOH officer
2006 and Editor 2004 5)
My life has changed dramatically in the last couple of years and I can pinpoint most of it to “Harley”. In 2003 my husband Lee and I purchased our first Harley Davidson, an anniversary Fat Boy.
I loved riding on the back as a passenger, no responsibility, and the freedom to see the world. This July, Lee called me from High Country and suggested I bring my visiting mother over to see an Anniversary Low Rider. My mother and I spent the next 3 days picking out my 06’ Dyna Low Rider, we finally picked the red one. She had so much fun helping her only daughter pick out a Harley Davidson, and I was happy she was here visiting and we could enjoy some serious shopping together.
Lee had to ride it home because I hadn’t taken my rider’s class yet. I got my bike two days before we left for a week in Sturgis. I didn’t get to ride, (but I thought about it).
It was great fun running around Sturgis, husband in tow locating parts for my new bike, I only spent about 6 hours finding the right Memphis Shades windshield, it was a new experience for him to watch me selecting parts, instead of him dragging me around while he located parts for the Fat Boy. He traded the Fat Boy in when I got the Low Rider for a Street Glide and he loved the bike exactly as it was and didn’t need parts.
I’ve completed the class, have my license and about 500 miles under my belt now, with plans to put thousands of miles on it.
I realized the other day when our first snow storm of the year was starting how much I had changed over the last few years. The snow is coming down, the visibility is getting low, and I am up in Loveland, I wanted to stop at the store and buy my husband some new underwear, because I needed new handlebars.(It always worked for him to buy me lingerie when he wanted new chrome parts for his bike, I figured it could work for me as well) I couldn’t see beyond a quarter mile for a while, but I made it to High Country, and spent 45 minutes selecting new bars (less than 5 minutes for his new underwear )
My goal as the new LOH Officer is to make this a fun year, we will continue to support our Charities and do things that benefit our community. We have a great group and we are already working on ways to have more fun this year. Come join us. Teri Hull
