Hi Riders,
I am Colorado born and raised. Born at St. Anthony’s Central and
raised on the western slope. My family moved to the Roaring Fork Valley
in time for me to attend kindergarten in Glenwood Springs. By the fifth
grade we had settled in Carbondale and I started my love affair with
motorized two wheelers. I was the delivery boy for 2 paper routes, Carbondale
only had 3 at the time, and my dad being tired of chauffeuring me came
home with a motorized bike. I had to peddle it to start it and it topped
out at 15 or 20 mph. Of course the town cop didn’t let this go
on long, I was 11. From these meager beginnings I have enjoyed quite
a list of different tote-goats, dirt and street bikes. I had always
told myself that I wasn’t HD material. Those bikers were scary
people and the HDs were too expensive. I came to my senses after a short
test ride on a cousin’s Road King. Two weeks later, my new 2003
Anniversary Edition Road King was in the driveway. I had ridden an 1100
Honda for the last few years and was satisfied, or so I thought. I have
named her Blondie. The name comes from a list of things I will never
have and my bride says this is as close as I will ever get to a blond,
so I decided to take 2 things off of the list at once. From purchasing
my scooter to each and every thing else Harley, this has been a life
changing experience. Once we got involved with HOG, our family size
has expanded beyond belief. We have made friends that we will enjoy
for many years to come. The once scary bikers are good, friendly people.
I am proud to be a HOG member and am very glad that I took that test
ride.
My bride and I have been married for 20 years this year. We have 3
grown daughters, 3 son-in-laws, and 2 grand children. Having all girls,
it was real nice to get boys as the first two grandkids. Besides us
at home, our children now are the four legged variety, Jack and Coco.
I am a Realtor, working as the office manager for Coldwell Banker Colorado
Landmark at the Flatirons Mall. My father and grandfather were both
builders and I started out in construction, but at 40 my body decided
it was time for a change.
For mental health, I ride. When the day has been a bear or just too
many things on my mind, I ride. When in the saddle, I think of nothing
but riding. After a couple of hours of concentration on riding I am
able to better concentrate on the other aspects of life.
I look forward to knowing you all. I wish for you to have and enjoy
all of the great experiences that come with your association with Harley
Davidson and HOG.
